How It Works & Care Guide

Turn your kitchen into a pottery studio. No high-temp kiln or wheel required—just your creativity and a standard home oven.

🎨 4 Easy Steps to Your Permanent Custom Mug

Step 1: Prep Your Canvas

Wipe your blank ceramic mugs clean with a dry towel or rubbing alcohol to remove any oils or dust. Make sure the surface is completely dry before painting.

Step 2: Paint & Personalize

Use the fine-detail and flat wash brushes to bring your design to life. If you want to layer colors, allow 10–15 minutes between layers. Made a mistake? Simply wipe it away with a damp cloth while the paint is still wet!

Step 3: Air-Dry (30 Minutes)

Before baking, ensure the paint is completely touch-dry. Leave your mugs on a flat surface to air-dry for at least 30 minutes at room temperature.

Step 4: Bake to Lock in Color (300°F for 30 Mins)

Place your mugs inside a cold oven (do not preheat). Set the temperature to 300°F (150°C) and bake for 30 minutes. Once done, turn off the oven and let the ceramics cool inside naturally before removing.

💡 Baking & Safety FAQ

❓ Should I preheat the oven before baking?

No need to preheat! To prevent thermal shock and avoid cracking, place your painted ceramics directly into a cold oven first, then set the temperature to 300°F. Gradually heating and cooling ensures your design bonds securely with lasting vibrancy.

❓ Can I actually drink hot beverages out of it?

Yes! Once properly cured in the oven, the paints fuse to the glazed ceramic exterior. We suggest keeping paint away from the top rim where your lips touch, making it totally safe for hot coffee, tea, or everyday cold drinks.

❓ How do I wash my finished mug?

To keep your hand-painted colors bright and prevent abrasion over years of use, gentle hand washing with a soft sponge and mild dish soap is recommended. Avoid abrasive steel wool scrubbers, microwave cycles, or high-temperature dishwasher cycles.
